COVID-19: A View From Travel Advisors
What Travel Advisors Need from Destinations During the COVID-19 Crisis
When China announced no new cases of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, last week, it signaled hope for the future.
The road to recovery, however, will be a long one. Restoring the tourism industry and consumer confidence will be difficult, but entirely possible. The best way forward? Taking each step in as informed a way as possible.
While Europe and North America are still battling the virus, DCI looked to the travel advisors to learn what they need, to help us identify future best practices. As mediators between consumers and destinations, these actors are key to setting the stage for recovery in the coming months. Knowing how they operate and what they need will be key to marketing efforts once the coronavirus crisis has subsided.
Through an online survey, we asked more than 400 U.S. and Canadian travel advisors how they were weathering the storm, how they set their priorities, and when were they hoping to travel again for business and travel trade events.
Through the survey, we were able to observe a few takeaways that DMOs will want to absorb while planning for the future. The full report is available below.
