Caitlin Teare Promoted to Vice President, Economic Development Public Relations

Development Counsellor’s International (DCI) is pleased to announce the promotion of Caitlin Teare to Vice President, Public Relations, Economic Development.

After nearly five years of working as a political communicator in the United States Congress, Caitlin joined DCI’s economic development team in the fall of 2015. Over the past eight years, she has grown tremendously as a public relations professional and account leader.

Most recently, Caitlin elevated her role by taking charge of the internal operations of her 16-person team, identifying areas of improvement and incorporating technology, tools and processes to advance multiple facets of client work.

She has also developed a solid track record of consistently renewing and growing clients over the years, helping secure some of DCI’s largest retainer clients to date. Currently, with the help of her team, Caitlin manages a total of 25 clients.

Notably, Caitlin has been integral in developing our economic development public relations purpose and positioning in alignment with the larger agency purpose. She spearheads the development of an inclusive communication and marketing guidebook to help elevate DCI’s thought leadership in the DEI space and assist clients in advancing their DEI goals. This includes leading the creation of the media relations section and collaborating with other service leads to advance this work.

“In addition to her leadership, long-term planning and collaboration skills, Caitlin has also evolved how we do public relations as a whole,” says Katherine Saunders, Executive Vice President of Client Strategy at DCI. “She has worked to ensure that inclusive storytelling is a part of nearly every contract and works tirelessly to increase our service offerings.”

We know that Caitlin will excel in this new role, and we can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes!
