Stevie’s Passion for Places
At the tender age of 9, Stevie remembers pleading with her parents to take her to Paris, so that she could “see the Mona Lisa and the Eiffel Tower.” Inspired by her excitement and appreciation for experiencing new cultures through travel, her family took one major trip each year throughout the remainder of her childhood. While in college, Stevie spent summers abroad, including an NYU program in London and an internship in Brussels. Her favorite travel experiences include trips to Barcelona, Hong Kong, Istanbul and Tanzania.
- Stevie successfully organized a week-long educational trip to Istanbul, Turkey, for the Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB). She led a group of six qualified association executives with international programs for 1,000-plus attendees. Following the trip, each planner submitted an RFP to the ICVB.
- She also secured an interview with Skift for the head of the ICVB to address security issues in Turkey in 2016. The result was a story addressing Istanbul’s growth as a global convention city and Turkey’s plans to keep meeting delegates safe.
- For the Vienna Destination Group, Stevie conducted two days of successful sales calls. Of the 12 qualified association appointments with programs for 800-plus attendees, 67 percent expressed immediate interest in Vienna.
A proud Maryland native, Stevie grew up eating blue crabs on the Chesapeake and cheering on the Washington Redskins football team (through thick and thin). While she can trace her mother’s family tree dates back to its 1700s roots in the southern U.S., her father’s roots are a mystery to the family. So, she recently submitted a DNA sample for testing. Stay tuned.

Surprising Facts About Stevie
Budget buster: Stevie’s first job was as a sales associate at Abercrombie Kids, when the store manager spotted her at the mall and offered her a position on the spot. By the end of the first month, she had recommended five of her friends who together basically ran the store. After receiving her first paycheck — a whopping $28 after taxes — she realized, to her dismay, that she was spending more than that at the food court on breaks.
Psyched about psych: Growing up, Stevie was convinced she wanted to become a physician and began college on a pre-med track. After realizing she loved organizing events (and suffering recurring nightmares about failing chemistry and the periodic table), she switched gears. However, she is still proud of her psychology degree, believing that understanding what motivates others is valuable in every business and industry.
Jacket obsessed: Stevie has an obsession with jackets, coats, blazers, parkas, etc. When shopping she will often talk herself into leaving with a new coat instead of what she initially set out to buy. She dreams of one day having a big closet dedicated to just her jackets.
