Holland Case Study: Foreign direct investment digital advertising

The Challenge

After launching a world-renowned FDI website, developed by DCI, the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency wanted to generate more quality leads and encourage website visitors to explore content related to their key industries and the overall investment environment in Holland.


The DCI Strategy

DCI developed a strategic pay-per-click campaign targeting North American prospects, which incorporated Search and Display components with business messaging running on Google AdWords and Bing networks.


The Results

  • After just one year, the campaigns generated a total of 555 conversions—actions related to meeting requests, email or phone hyperlink clicks, PDF downloads and e-newsletter sign-ups.
  • Over 50% of the site’s North American traffic was generated by the campaigns. Overall, the ads generated 20% of global website traffic.
  • In 2016, pageviews on industry pages increased 147% compared to industry pages traffic in 2015, with 50% of all 2016 industry page traffic generated by the ad campaigns.
  • Utilizing long-tail and optimized keywords, the click-through-rate for Search campaigns resulted in a click-through rate of 1.89%.
