The Challenge

Position the Lincoln region as an attractive place for regional headquarters and support operations in the life sciences, IT/software, advanced manufacturing and financial services industries, with a specific focus on the New York-New Jersey region.


The DCI Strategy

Identify and attempt to schedule meetings with companies showing signs of investment opportunity and well aligned with Lincoln’s value proposition. Work with the Partnership to identify and secure strategic retention meetings with companies already operating in Lincoln that are headquartered in the NY-NJ region. Selectively pinpoint and meet with Site Selection Consultants with a strong track record in siting projects within Lincoln’s target industries.


The Results

  • During a four-day visit to the region in October 2014, DCI’s lead generation team qualified and secured meetings with four companies interested in expansion opportunities and not yet familiar with Lincoln’s offering.
  • One insurance services firm, ResourcePro, subsequently made three site visits to Lincoln and announced in September 2015 it will establish a 20-person office in downtown Lincoln to serve its regional clients.
  • An additional four meetings were arranged with Business Retention & Expansion candidates, whose headquarters are located in the Northeast.
  • Three other meetings with strategic Site Selection Consultants, including teams from Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Hickey & Associates, were scheduled.
