Jan-Emile van Rossum, Executive Director of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) North America, didn’t feel “ready for his close-up” when it came to giving media interviews.
The DCI Strategy
DCI set out to provide Mr. van Rossum with the strategies, tactics and experience necessary to speak to media—both on and off camera—about the Netherlands’ advantages as a business location.
- DCI updated key messaging for NFIA to help prepare Mr. van Rossum and other NFIA representatives speak on a range of topics regarding Holland’s business climate—from tax structure to industry specifics.
- DCI conducted formal media training with Mr. van Rossum in New York City to hone key messages and provide best practices for print, radio and broadcast interviews—also touching on crisis communications.
- DCI conducted on-camera practice interviews with Mr. van Rossum using both “easy” and “tough” interview scenarios, critiquing his performance after each to provide feedback on areas for improvement.
- DCI provided Mr. van Rossum with a customized, comprehensive media training guide to serve as a reference tool for future media opportunities.
