Charting a New Course for a Revitalizing Wisconsin City

The City of Kenosha was impressed with DCI's approach to our branding project. DCI staff immersed themselves in the local culture while exploring our city and engaging key stakeholders. The resulting marketing message is authentic. Both the marketing message and the new logo have been well-received.”

The Challenge

Although located on the shores of Lake Michigan with a revitalized downtown, the City of Kenosha, Wisconsin still suffered an image problem from the closure of the local Chrysler plant in 2010 and the decline of shipping and manufacturing.

The DCI Strategy

Develop a new brand that would help grab the attention of more visitors heading “Up North,” traveling along the I-94 corridor and attract skilled professionals from Chicago, Milwaukee and beyond to help its companies continue to thrive.

The Results

  • Developed a brand position, promise, value proposition, key messages and target audiences for Kenosha.
  • Created a brand strategy guide to guide the marketing efforts for the city.
  • Delivered a Marketing Blueprint, which included recommendations for local and industry engagement, market engagement and measurement.
