Steve Duncan Promoted as DCI’s Newest Vice President

NEW YORK – Development Counsellors International (DCI) is pleased to announce the promotion of Steve Duncan to Vice President.

Based in DCI’s Denver office, Steve leads a team of professionals who utilize in-depth research and a relentless attitude to bring DCI’s clients face-to-face with business decision-makers, and has consistently contributed to the success of the agency from a variety of different leadership seats. Steve has overseen successful lead generation and marketing strategy projects for diverse organizations such as Japan External Trade Organization, Bavaria U.S. Offices of Economic Development, KAUST Research & Technology Park (Saudi Arabia), Texas Economic Development Corporation, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, New Jersey Business Action Center, Greater MSP, and USVI Economic Development Authority, to name a few.

Steve joined DCI in 2004 as an intern for the economic development marketing team. After nearly 10 years of developing and executing various clients’ marketing plans, and placing them in high-level business publications, he moved into the role of Director of Lead Generation in 2014.  In this role Steve has served as a thought leader for community investment attraction programs, and has authored research on the topic including “What’s Working in Lead Generation: A View from the Economic Development Profession’s Front Lines.”

“Steve has an attitude of ‘how can we do this better,’ and has become a pivotal part of expanding and innovating the industry’s approach to lead generation and investment attraction,” said Julie Curtin, Executive Vice President/Partner. “He is clearly a man of many talents, and has consistently contributed those talents to advancing the industry for more than a dozen years.”

His current work includes the launch of an innovative new business development service called Web-to-Leads, which uses analytics technology and thorough follow-up to turn website visitors into project opportunities. He also partnered with Global Finance Magazine to conduct a survey of North American executives and their perceptions of Europe’s business climate, authoring the report “An Executive Perception of Europe.”

In addition to servicing his lead generation clients, Steve regularly facilitates new business initiatives, takes on speaking engagements about entrepreneurship and economic development marketing, spearheads international marketing projects, and works closely with DCI’s digital team to better identify ways to advance the agency’s lead generation offerings.  Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Pennsylvania State University
