Portland Metro Region

The Portland, Oregon, region encompasses much more than its namesake city. Surrounding the region's urban core are three additional counties with distinct personalities: Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory (aka Clackamas County), a history-rich area that once served as the terminus for the historic Oregon Trail migration; Washington County, home to a growing number of Pinot-producing wineries; and Columbia County, a bucolic mix of small towns, farms and wildlife/recreational areas bordering the Columbia River.
