Destination PR Professionals Reveal the BIG IDEA at NATJA Convention

October 8, 2013

In an era where advertising budgets still out pace public relations budgets by magnificNATJAent margins, the breakthrough big ideas that percolate in the PR departments of destination marketing organizations around the world are often overlooked.

This week the North American Travel Journalist Associations 11th Annual Convention will turn caution to the wind when it debuts the first ever Ignite session for destination PR professionals entitled, “So, What’s The Big Idea?”

Following an interactive introduction by Karyl Leigh Barnes, Managing Partner of DCI’s Tourism Practice, which will focus on highlighting some of the challenges faced by destination public relations professionals as they strive to make their mark, ten featured DMOs will take the stage to profile a BIG IDEA they helped develop for their destination using Ignite. Ignite is a presentation style where participants are given five minutes to speak accompanied by 20 slides. Each slide is displayed for 15 seconds and then automatically advanced.

This year’s session will feature such destinations as:

Puerto Vallarta North Carolina
Newport Huntsville2
